Getting back in the Swing of Things, Twitter and a Survey!

Hey guys, long time no see!  The ladies here on FP3 have been so busy lately, that we haven’t been able to post!  We have all started going back to school and our course loads are rigorous. In addition to that, someone tried to hack into our site, leaving malicious code in our comment system, which made Google ban our site for a couple of weeks.  Couple that together and you get a tumble weed flying across our blog, lol.  Well, after getting rid of all the bad code and restoring our site with Google, getting new computers (woohoo), and catching up on a lot of homework, we are finally ready to get back in the swing of things and blog.

However, after taking a good look at the blog, we have decided that we want to make some changes as far as the direction for the future and we need your help.  We want to bring fresh, new content to you that you want to read so we want you guys to please answer this poll we’ve put together.  It’s quite simple and it will help us tremendously!  Thanks in advance.

Also, on Twitter we are getting really close to 1000 followers!  Currently we have 963 followers and we have decided that when we reach the 1000 follower mark, we will do a huge giveaway as appreciation for helping us get there!

Daily Find: Transition to Fall

Hey guys, so it’s still pretty darn hot outside but in every magazine fall is taking over!  You can’t turn one page without seeing fall coats, jackets, snakeskin this, and leopard print that!  Will they just let us enjoy the last of summer before we have to bundle up?  No, well I guess I could compromise and plan early  for Fall.   So in my effort to ignore the temperature outside, here is a couple of jackets that can bridge the gap between fall and summer and prepare us in advance for the upcoming season!

Should magazines be pushing fall clothes even though it’s still hot?

Beauty Q’s and A’s: At Home Protein Treatment

Jasmine here, and I’ve recently tried to think of ways to save money as far as my hair goes. I’ve tested many home remedies for my hair and one that I fell in love with was the egg protein treatment. With ingredients that are most likely in your home, you can whip up a cheap alternative to pricey salon protein treatments. After using this concoction, I was left with noticeably softer, shinier hair. Now this procedure may not rock everyone’s boat (some people’s hair doesn’t like protein) but it worked for me. Try it out and give me your feed back.

Ingredients:

• 1-2 eggs (depending on how much hair you have)
• 1-2 tbs of oil (olive oil, jojoba oil, cocoanut oil, almond oil, just to name a few)
• moisturizing shampoo and conditioner ( I usually just co-wash my hair meaning I wash with conditioner only)
• small bowl
• fork
• plastic cap

First mix the egg the egg and the oil in a small bowl using the fork. Make sure it’s well combined. Then carefully put mixture in your hair (eggs can be messy). After your hair is fully saturated, put on the plastic cap and do something constructive for 20 minutes. After 20 minutes shampoo and condition hair using moisturizing products because you need a balance of protein and moisture for strong healthy hair. Style as desired.

Yay or Nay: Kelly Rowland Album Release Party

So, Kelly Rowland just released her new album “Here I Am” and of course Michelle and Beyonce’ attended the release party.  However, Kelly was still the star of the party with her daring choice of wardrobe.  Though Kelly wasn’t the only one stylin’ and profilin’ at the release, her black, edgy cutout dress was definitely an attention grabber!  Adding the silver pumps and piercing blue eyeliner on her bottom eyelid as a pop of color was the perfect finishing touch for a perfect ensemble.  Tika Sumpter also worked the carpet with her bright pink get up.

But with fashion do’s there must be fashion don’ts.  Now, I don’t hate Michelle’s dress, but I think her choice of dress was pretty much plane jane-ish.  It seems she tried to glam up the look with the “red bottom” Louboutin pumps, but they just weren’t enough. Not for me at least. What do you guys say?

Hi everyone! It’s Dannika and I’m highlighting Kelly Osbourne’s chic, I’m cooler than you style.  Now, I have to admit  Kelly was rocking an edgier style that I wasn’t quite fond of when she was younger.  But now, Ms. Kelly O has polished up her look without losing her cool edgy-ness, which has certainly changed my mind!   Her style and fashion sense has matured, and it can be seen splashed all over the Fashion Police on E! Plus Size the Look: Kerry Washington in Gucci

 

You’ve seen this dress battle  for “who wore it better” on the likes of Chanel Iman, Jennifer Lopez and Kerry Washington (my choice of muse), but you’ve never seen that beautiful jewel tone Gucci dress like this!  On today’s Plus Size the Look, I take on that infamous Gucci dress, finding  a similar version from the fabulous Igigi and pairing it with gold heels, an orange clutch and “Basketball Wives” bling bling earrings.   There you have it ladies, a touch of color blocking, and bling and your totally on trend.  Wear this combination and your sure to be the one who wore it better. Take that Kerry!
